It has taken me almost six months to find an affordable bed suite to upgrade from my single bed that I've had ever since I was in kindergarten. And it has taken me almost a year to finally find the time to get a move on with my studio. Prior to moving, I operated my entire business from our family dining room, in what would best be described as a parallel universe. Every surface above and below was covered in flowers but if you looked closely underneath and above the makeshift shelving I squeezed into every airspace and under-table space, it was a dining room (and piano room) that's for sure. Looking for me was like a page of Where's Wally, Spring Edition. So to finally have the space to operate from a spare room has been liberating - so liberating that I honestly had no idea what to do with so much space! I've been planning to get some furniture for this room that actually matched - one of the reasons why I started a Pinterest account, to keep track of all my inspiration - but just haven't had the chance to get started. So when Officeworks approached me to offer to help me out with creating a new looking workspace for a fresh start to the financial year, I was so thankful for the extra hand. I've picked out some very practical storage cubes, chairs (the pretty white one, aside from just sitting pretty, is for using to shoot my modeled product images), a cork board to organise my inspiration (get yours here!) and some colourful stationery to organise my notes and files and keep me inspired. Can you believe I only just discovered desk file racks a month ago?Whilst there's still so much more to do, being surrounded by an organised space is making me feel more inspired than ever to achieve my business goals this year. And now, it's the other way around, instead of a studio built above a dining table, there's an actually an actual studio here and also a quiet room where my sister and I chill out and take a break whenever we have the chance to. If you've been doing an office makeover too, I'd love to see. Tag me, @kisforkani @officeworks #MasterMyWorkspace.Photos: Rowena Cao and I
