Peek inside Hotel Granvia Kyoto

I'm so excited to have been given the opportunity to visit Japan this February! I travelled Japan for just over a week with Japan National Tourism Organisation to explore some of the lesser known gems in and around Kyoto. Because I love the country so much, I decided to fly in early and do a bit of travelling myself to explore some places I've always wanted to see.

Whilst in Kyoto, I stayed in the beautiful Hotel Granvia Kyoto, which sits on top of Kyoto station. I absolutely love staying in and around the Kyoto station area and Hotel Granvia Kyoto was just the perfect station hotel in so many ways.

First, it’s located on the north side of Kyoto station. I prefer this over staying on the south, east or west side of the station because the main bus terminal at Kyoto station sits at the north of the station. In Kyoto, the best way to get around locally is often by bus so this is a huge plus. Second, Hotel Granvia Kyoto was located right next to Isetan, which has the most incredible food hall in its basement floor. So I totally rate it location wise for a Kyoto Station hotel.

During my time at Hotel Granvia Kyoto, I stayed in the semi-suite room. It was ridiculously spacious and a total luxury for a Japanese hotel room with huge beds, a living area and executive desk, kitchenette, wardrobe, spacious bathroom with bathtub and rain shower. But even their smaller rooms are quite spacious too, with magnificent views across the city.

There's also a pool and gym here but I didn't get the chance to check it out in person.

Breakfast at Hotel Granvia Kyoto was lovely as well - you can choose from numerous options including buffet, half-buffet and Japanese breakfast. Or, keep it cosy and order breakfast in room like I did! This is the Japanese breakfast set they have available for in-room dining. I absolutely love Japanese breakfast sets and the variety of options and things to try. Definitely a must try if you get the chance.

I had the most amazing time at Hotel Granvia Kyoto and would definitely return again!
