Hello from Tokyo! I wanted to share with you today an incredible hotel we recently stayed at - Andaz Tokyo located in Toranomon Hills. Andaz Tokyo is one of the newer hotels in Tokyo, having just celebrated its 5th anniversary this year. Situated on the top floors of Toranomon Hills building, Andaz Tokyo boasts one of the most breathtaking views of Tokyo city, with its floor-to-ceiling windows like as you're living up in the clouds. It's luxury living at its best, with beautifully curated spaces inspired by the design and culture of Tokyo. Come take a look!

Room

During our time at Andaz Tokyo, we stayed in a king tower view room. It's luxurious and spacious, with a full sized bathroom and large hot tub as well. When you open the blinds, you are greeted with sweeping views across Tokyo city and this particular room with the tower view has a real close up view of Tokyo Tower. Actually, Tokyo Tower is only a 1km walk away!

At night, we stayed in the room and watched the sun set and the city light up. It was so magical, I couldn't believe my eyes.

Breakfast

Breakfast can be taken in their signature restaurant The Tavern - Grill & Lounge upstairs next to the lobby. It's buffet style and you can also order a main dish each from the a-la-carte menu to have alongside your buffet!

Alternatively, you can order room service and laze the morning away in the cutest Andaz Tokyo yukatas.

This was our room service breakfast order. Tom had the western breakfast set which has lots of options to choose from to create your breakfast. I chose the Japanese breakfast set which included lots of seafood, sashimi, uni (sea urchin) and more - my fave kind of breakfast in Japan! It was such a nice way to spend the morning, and the food was absolutely delicious.

Dinner @ The Tavern - Grill & Lounge

One of Andaz Tokyo's signature restaurant offerings is the snow-aged beef at their main restaurant, The Tavern which we tried during our stay.

If you haven't heard of snow-aged beef, it is a traditional Japanese method of preparing beef by storing it in a snow cellar to age. This method is typically used in the cold, snowy areas of north Japan like Niigata, however The Tavern brings it to Tokyo making it accessible to the big city and the perfect way to learn more about this unique method.

We tried the signature set menu which is a 4-6 course menu (depending on how many dishes you opt in for!). The dishes included delicious grilled scallop, seared tuna, foie gras, lobster bisque and of course, the snow-aged beef which Tom described as one of the best he's ever had. Coupled with the gorgeous city views, I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone in the area who wants to try this specialty or for a special occasion.

Rooftop

We popped by the rooftop terrace and bar area one afternoon and just loved what we saw here. There's a beautiful space up here and Andaz Tokyo are one of the few hotels in Tokyo with an (semi) open air rooftop bar with views of the city (and Tokyo Tower) of course.

Up on Andaz Tokyo's rooftop, you can also find a beautiful lounge area where they are currently serving afternoon tea and dinner in their Lavender Garden. Also here is their sushi restaurant which looked incredible and intimate, seating only 8 people. I made a mental note to check that out next time I'm in Tokyo!

But you know what I was most impressed about? They built a beautiful, chapel on the rooftop here, so that couples could get married on the rooftop in Tokyo, and then have a reception here with city views afterwards. You've got to check it out - it's incredible.

Other facilities

You can also find at this hotel a really large gym, 20 metre lap pool, spa and more!

Location

Andaz Tokyo is about a 20 minute walk to Shiba Park. From here, you can take super cute pictures with Tokyo Tower in the background - much like the lawns in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. We spent one of the mornings wandering around here and I was surprised to find not all that many people know about this spot.

For getting out, the closest train station is just a short walk away at Toranomon station.
