Sharing with you today our stay at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16! This beautiful luxury hotel is located near the historical heritage areas of Macao and is the perfect base for exploring places such as The Ruins of St. Paul's, Senardo Square, Monte Fort, Mandarin's House and Moorish Barracks. In fact, all these places can actually be reached on foot within 5-20 minutes walk.

Room:

We stayed in a Superior Room Club Sofitel - a room on the 17th floor with Club Millésime access. The room was spacious with luxurious touches, and the kind team at Sofitel actually left us a sweet little welcome gift which was a really special surprise.

Club Millésime

Our room at Sofitel came with Club Millésime privileges so we made sure to utilise this during our stay. I'm a big fan of club lounges at hotels - they make your day so much more easier as they often come with their own private check-in and concierge, as well as snacks and meals. At Sofitel Macau's Club Millésime, guests can enjoy private check-in & concierge, daily breakfast buffet, all day refreshments and drinks, daily afternoon tea and evening cocktail hour and wine tasting which serves as a great light dinner option. In addition, you get to enjoy access to the beautiful club lounge which has stunning views of the city from above.

Breakfast

Sofitel's Club Millésime breakfast buffet is a small but curated spread of western and eastern dishes, including your usual hot western breakfast options, dumplings, fried rice and noodles, as well as a selection of cold meats, fruits, juices, breads, pastries and more. It's plenty to get your day started and everything is super fresh and delicious.

Afternoon tea

If you're in the hotel around afternoon tea time, then do check out the afternoon tea at Club Millésime. The afternoon tea set is served on a tiered cake stand with an assortment of sweet and savoury. We loved spending the afernoon here at the club lounge, working on our laptops on the comfortable sofas here and enjoying the food with a view!

Evening cocktail hour and canapés:

Sometimes, after a day of exploring the last thing we want to do is to go out again and find somewhere to eat! This is why I love Sofitel's Club Millésime evening canapés. It's a little dinner-time buffet with plenty of dishes to choose from!

Mansion at Sofitel

During our stay, we were super curious about an area and pool we could see from our window. Turns out, it was the Mansion at Sofitel, a private area reserved for those who book larger suites and multi-bedroom apartments. We were lucky to get a peek at the courtyard area here and it's just beautiful! If you do stay here, you'll be spoiled by a private pool area with jacuzzi overlooking the city view!

Rooftop terrace

There's a secret rooftop terrace at Sofitel Macau which is a destination in itself that you should definitely check out if staying at the hotel. It's not really publicised - in fact, it's the smoking area for the rooftop restaurant. However, this beautiful terrace boasts sweeping views of Macau below, and its tiled arches are stunning as well. The rooftop terrace is part of the restaurant, and so it is only open during restaurant hours!
