The Udaya (Ubud, Bali)

I feel so lucky to have stayed at The Udaya during our time in Ubud. I’ve had this resort on our list of places to visit for so long ever since I saw their famous Celebration of Flowers flower bath experience at Kaveri Spa, so when we planned our trip to Bali, I knew we had to visit The Udaya.

Location

The Udaya is situated between Tegelelang and central Ubud, making it a great spot to base yourself when visiting the area. It’s surrounded by luscious jungle with a river running through the middle of the resort.

Resort grounds

The resort has one main restaurant above the lobby at the front, a large pool area, plenty of places to lounge under the sun, bamboo pavilions for yoga classes, a gym, as well as the famous Kaveri Spa, which now also has a 2nd building dedicated to it - probably because it got so popular! They also offer yoga classes in the morning, as well as bikes so you can ride around the neighbourhood, as well as a cute little 30 min free photoshoot coupon with a professional photographer so that you can capture your stay whilst here, which I think is such a sweet idea.

Villa

During our stay at The Udaya, we stayed in the pool suite. There used to be only 6 of these on the property, however recently, they built 4 more situated at the back of the resort on a hill and it was in one of these new pool villas that we stayed. Just making a note as I think they look slightly different. Our villa was stunning with a beautiful bamboo hut and sprawling infinity pool surrounded by tropical plantings. The bathroom here was absolutely stunning with a free-standing bathtub and big open windows - perfect for if you want to book an in-room Celebration of Flowers!

Floating breakfast

Of course, we had to try the famed floating breakfast at The Udaya. The spread was soo gorgeous and the breakfast menu had so many options to choose from. Every breakfast comes with a platter of fruits and bread, and you can choose whichever dishes from the menu you wish to try!

Celebration of Flowers @ Kaveri Spa

The highly anticipated Celebration of Flowers met every expectation! We had our Celebration of Flowers experience in the new spa building which only opened recently - so the windows in this building look a bit different to the images you may have seen of the experience in the past. The windows here are bigger and let in more light and the design that the team put together was so stunning! There were soo many flowers in this bath that it was hard to ruin the design when you get in - as long as you don’t fall in, it’s super easy to get in if you want to take a photo. Celebration of Flowers at Kaveri Spa is 45 minutes per booking with round-shaped bath tubs.

In-room Celebration of Flowers

You can also arrange this experience in room and as we loved it so much, we actually also booked an in-room one as well! Here, the staff come and create the bath and design for you in your own villa and the advantage of having it in your own villa is that you can enjoy it for as long as you like!
