Walk-in-Wardrobe Update (New Rug!)

With more time this year being spent at home, I’ve been working on personalising some of our spaces at home to make them feel even more at home. A recent update to our home is the welcome of this gorgeous new patterned rug for the spare room turned walk-in-wardrobe! I’ve been looking for the perfect patterned rug like this and even though there are so many options out there, it’s always hard narrowing it down to one that would work with our space. This beautiful rug which reminds me of something you might see in an Airbnb in the middle of a desert, is the Avila Rug from west elm. And I love how it just works with the space with its blend of warm and cool tones - picking up different colours in the room and complementing everything oh-so-well. Plus I just love how if you’re ever in need of help with styling your space, that west elm offers free design services where you can literally book a free consultation by video, phone, email, live chat or in-store. I’ve used it a few times before and it’s so helpful especially if you’re having trouble choosing between sizes for your space, or colour schemes, or even figuring out where to put what in your room!

The size I have is the smaller one (152cm x 244cm) and I’ve placed it in the middle as a feature piece for the space. I’ve also added a few little indoor plants which I got via mail order (impressed!) from Tesselaar. In the future, I’m considering putting a closet island unit for the middle of the space with drawers and all and this rug will be the perfect piece to frame that too! Anyway I hope you enjoy this little update on the space - I just love how this rug has completely livened up this room with its colour.
